Businesses operating in the State of Tennessee as Money Transmitters or Check Cashers are required to be licensed by the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions. Licensees must post and maintain a $50,000.00 Money Transmitter / Check Cashers License Surety Bond.
If the business intends to operate more than one location, the bond amount is to be increased by $10,000.00 for each additional location up to a maximum amount of $800,000.00.
